The City of Palm Bay will reopen on Thursday, September 5th. The regularly-scheduled City Council meeting will proceed as planned at 7pm in Council Chambers. Waste Management will resume operations tomorrow and has released a modified schedule for garbage collection through Saturday.

Monday customers who did NOT receive a garbage pickup before the storm and Tuesday customers will have garbage collection tomorrow, Thursday, September 5th. Wednesday and Thursday customers will have collection on Friday, September 6th. Friday customers will have collection on Saturday, September

Do not place trash/recycles curbside. Normal garbage, yard waste, and recycle collections will resume after the storm has passed and is safe to do so.

Shelters Opened at 5p on Sunday. Mandatory Evacuations begin Monday at 8am. Waste Management Monday routes should place carts curbside before 5am on Monday as WM will begin service at 5:30am on Monday.

Brevard County emergency officials have announced a 24-hour delay in mandatory evacuations, and are now calling for evacuations to begin at 8 a.m. Monday due to a slowing but still dangerous Hurricane Dorian.

WM Monday customers should place carts curbside Sunday evening after 6pm. Monday collection set to begin at 5:30am. Residents who have not been picked up by 2:00 pm on Monday should bring inside or otherwise secure refuse.

The city of Palm Bay will hold a press briefing today, August 30th, at 4:30pm to discuss the local state of emergency and the City's preparation efforts in advance of Hurricane Dorian.

Mayor William Capote signed Legislative Order No. D-2019-01, declaring a state of emergency in the City of Palm Bay. A local state of emergency is declared in advance of a potential disaster event and enables the City of Palm Bay to readily seek response or recovery assistance from the State.

City of Palm Bay staff are closely monitoring Dorian and continuing to make preparations for the storm. The City will remain open for regular business on Friday, August 30th until 5pm.

As of now, all solid waste, recycling, and yard waste services are planned to take place as scheduled through Saturday.

The August 26, 2019 “Precautionary Boil Water Notice” is hereby rescinded for the above-mentioned addresses following the restoration of service and the satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey showing that the water is safe to drink.
On Tuesday, August 27, 2019 water service to utilities customers at the above-mentioned addresses was shut down due to a water main break. Service to these customers was shut down at approximately 9:00 p.m. and will be restored once all work is complete.
A reminder that Waste Management service is not impacted by the Labor Day holiday. All Monday services will take place as scheduled on Monday, September 2, 2019. WM is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Dorian and will send follow up notifications should service be impacted by the storm.

City of Palm Bay Public Works Contractor, Florida Site Contractors, will be performing 30 total culvert pipe replacements in Unit 42 (NW Palm Bay). The current set of replacements require closures continuing Tuesday, August 27, 2019 through Sunday, September 29, 2019.

Knecht Road NE between Michels Drive NE and Roc Rosa Drive NE will have north bound lane closures beginning Tuesday. August 27, 2019 through Thursday. August 29, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
