Police and community members come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink FREE coffee. It allows for a relaxed, informal one-on-one interaction in a friendly atmosphere. So pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee….We meet quarterly throughout the city.

National Night Out
Across America, National Night Out events are designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships and to send a message to criminals by letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The Palm Bay Police Department works in conjunction with the Melbourne Police Department for this event. This is event is held yearly at Lipscomb Park, 3416 Monroe Street in Melbourne.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
The “Prescription Drug Take-Back” is a one-day effort to provide the public a site to voluntarily surrender expired, unwanted, unused pharmaceutically controlled substances, and other medications for destruction. This is a nationwide event held by local law enforcement agencies in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths. For more information visit: https://takebackday.dea.gov/
Posters for Pizza Contest
This program encourages school children to become aware of safety issues in the community by drawing posters reflecting safety awareness.
4th, 5th and 6th grade students from the City of Palm Bay’s Elementary Schools compete for the best overall poster. One fourth grade, one fifth grade and one sixth grade class each win a pizza party with the Police Department. Each individual first place winner will win a trophy and the second and third runners up win a medal.
The Palm Bay Police Department promotes the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office with their Project Lifesaver program. Project Lifesaver provides a timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer’s, autism, and other related conditions or disorders.

Gun locks are provided free of charge to adults. Gun locks can be obtained by contacting CRU@pbfl.org or at sponsored Police Department events.
