PBPD is looking for Telecommunicator, School Crossing Guard, and Police Officer Positions
The Palm Bay Police Department will partner with twelve other law enforcement agencies across Orange, Seminole, Volusia and Brevard Counties on a mission to save lives with the launch of Operation Vision Zero, a high visibility enforcement and public awareness campaign calling on drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to exercise greater caution and obey Florida's traffic safety laws when on the road.
In 2015 the Palm Bay Police Department completed over $1 million in improvements to the 40-acre training facility known as “The Range” creating an open-access training facility for police, fire and EMS personnel.
The Palm Bay Police Department has two location in Palm Bay that serve as a “Safe Exchange Zone” for residents to utilize for child custody, private property and e-commerce exchanges. Residents can make exchanges in the two provided spaces found at the main Palm Bay Police Station located at 130 Malabar Rd SE, or at the Police Sub-Station located at 1575 Main St. NE. These spaces are located in front of the buildings and the lots have video surveillance on it at all times.
The Palm Bay Police Department is aggressively recruiting applicants for its V-Cop program. Volunteers are needed to assist with road patrols which may include traffic control, house checks, parking enforcement, minor vehicle crashes and other patrol related functions to assist road officers.
