The Health First Palm Bay Hospital Holiday Light Parade, presented by the City of Palm Bay, is scheduled for Saturday, December 7 at 6:30 pm. This year’s theme is “Stars and Stripes in Lights”. We will be honoring America, our military, and veterans on this Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
Thousands of spectators will line the 2.5-mile parade route which will leave the Palm Bay Campus of Eastern Florida State College and turn north onto San Filippo Drive, then turn west onto Malabar Road. The parade will end in front of City Hall at Minton Road, where our panel of judges will choose vote on their favorite floats from a variety of categories.
Brevard County’s premiere holiday parade will feature over 80 entries. Brightly lit floats, marching bands, cheer squads, motorized vehicles, and more will proceed along the parade route, delighting the crowd and ushering in the holiday season.
Area businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate. The registration fee is $25. City of Palm Bay community partners, government agencies or departments, and schools are free. The registration deadline is Wednesday, November 27.
The awards categories for the 2019 Holiday Light Parade are as follows: Best Float, Best Walking Group, Best Motorized Group, Best Marching Band, and Best Representation of the Theme. Judges will be looking for the entries in each group that best represents the theme of Stars and Stripes in Lights through creativity, design, visual impact with use of color and lights, uniforms and costumes (if applicable), and much more. Remember, though: have fun! Celebrate the holidays with our community!
