The St. Johns Heritage Parkway has an amended substantial completion date of December 8th, 2019, which was originally anticipated for December 2nd.
The amended substantial completion date accounts for rain delays on October 21st, October 25th, October 28th, November 5th, November 14th, and on November 15th. The total number of weather-related delays for the project is 61 days, which is permissible under the agreement with the City's contractor, Community Asphalt.
Construction activities are ongoing, with curbing completed, base rock nearing completion and roadways being primed for paving. Asphalt paving is expected to begin this week.
The City of Palm Bay is collaborating with the Florida Department of Transportation to coordinate the opening of the new Interstate 95 interchange. Project managers continue to coordinate with Brevard County officials regarding a right-of-way permit and the installation of a traffic signal. The City is also working closely with Florida Power and Light to ensure that the transformer and meter for the temporary traffic signal pole is operational for the opening of the roadway. Additional updates will be released as construction on the St. Johns Heritage Parkway nears final completion.
