Post Date:10/31/2019 9:44 AM
The Seventh Annual Turkey Creek 5k Trail Run, where nature runs wild, takes place on Saturday, November 16 at 7:30 a.m. at the Turkey Creek Sanctuary, 1502 Port Malabar Blvd. in Palm Bay.  The scenic course winds through both hydric and mesic hammocks and sand pine scrub, for a truly unique running experience.   The Turkey Creek 5k Trail Run is challenging and fun for all ages and fitness levels.

Groups and families are encouraged to register for this one of a kind race.  “We have serious runners as well as recreational runners and walkers who come out to experience this beautiful natural setting,” said Andy Dimmig, Community Outreach Coordinator for Palm Bay Parks & Recreation.  Dimmig encourages everyone to make the Turkey Creek 5K Trail Run a part of their holiday tradition.

The City of Palm Bay is also hosting a food drive the day of the race to benefit The South Brevard Sharing Center.  Participants and spectators are invited to bring non-perishable Thanksgiving food items such as cranberries, corn, green beans, gravy and packaged stuffing.  All donations are appreciated.

This is an exciting race for runners of all abilities so get your friends and family together and sign up today. Participants receive a T-shirt and refreshments.  Medals will be awarded to winners in each category. There will also be drawings for many different door prizes.  Runners can register on line at https://secure.runningzone.com or call the Tony Rosa Community Center at (321) 952-3443 for more information.
