Hurricane Dorian Update
City of Palm Bay information update as of 2pm on September 4, 2019.
The City of Palm Bay remains under a local state of emergency due to the impacts of Hurricane Dorian. All evacuation orders are lifted at this time and those who have evacuated may return home. Brevard County is in the process of shutting down hurricane shelters.
As of 8am on Wednesday, September 4th, City officials completed an initial damage and debris assessment and declared an all-clear for residents to travel on City roadways. Residents are reminded to drive cautiously as the weather clears throughout the day.
The City of Palm Bay will reopen on Thursday, September 5th. The regularly-scheduled City Council meeting will proceed as planned at 7pm in Council Chambers.
Brevard Public Schools will remain closed on Thursday.

Palm Bay Garbage Collection Schedule:
The Brevard County landfill will open at 7:30am tomorrow, Thursday, September 5th, which means that Waste Management can resume service in Palm Bay. In an effort to ensure that everyone receives a timely garbage collection from Waste Management this week, recycling collection has been suspended until Monday, September 9th, so that all available trucks can be used for garbage pickup. The collection schedule will be as follows:
Monday customers who did not receive a garbage pickup before the storm and Tuesday customers will have garbage collection tomorrow, Thursday, September 5th.
Wednesday and Thursday customers will have collection on Friday, September 6th.
Friday customers will have collection on Saturday, September 7th.
Residential yard waste and bulky waste collection will resume tomorrow, Thursday, September 5th, and will continue on the normal schedule. Commercial collection service will run on a one-day delay.
