Goode Park Boat Launch Closed Saturday, June 8 for 2019 ASCE National Concrete Canoe Competition
Florida Institute of Technology will host the 2019 American Society of Civil Engineers National Concrete Canoe Competition on Saturday, June 8 at Goode Park, 1300 Bianca Dr. NE, in Palm Bay. The competition is an annual event organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Teams from 25 universities from the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, China, India, and Mexico will be participating.
The event will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public. A series of concrete canoe races will be held in Turkey Creek, directly west of the Goode Park boat launch, boardwalk, and Captain’s house.
The boat launch at Goode Park will be closed to the public on Saturday, June 8 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the event. Patrons looking for a boat ramp are encouraged to use the ramp at Pollak Park, 1455 Main St. NE, in Palm Bay while the event is ongoing.
