2017 Palm Bay Mayor’s Ball Food Drive for Children’s Hunger Project

Citizens, community partners, and members of the media are invited to Palm Bay City Hall on Friday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m. to join Mayor Capote and Keith Gee, Executive Director of The Children’s Hunger Project (TCHP), in kicking off a two-week long food drive. The food collected will help provide weekend packages of food for children in local schools that are coming to school hungry on Monday mornings. 

A food bin will be placed in the lobby of City Hall on Friday, July 28th through Friday, August 11th, 2017. Anyone wishing to donate can drop off donations in the bin located in the lobby of the Palm Bay City Hall Annex at 120, Malabar Rd. SE, Palm Bay, FL, 32907.  The Children’s Hunger Project is currently in need of raisins and applesauce as well as small cans of Chef Boyardee Spaghetti and Meatballs, Beefaroni and Beef Ravioli (with pull top lids), small boxes of Kellogg’s cereal, chocolate milk (shelf stable) 8 oz, and 100% apple juice 4.23 oz.  Visit TCHP donations website for more information or to find other ways to give

Mayor William Capote has named The Children’s Hunger Project (TCHP), as this year’s beneficiary for the annual event and hopes to raise $100,000 to benefit the local organization that is committed to ensuring that no child in need goes without food.

The Children’s Hunger Project
The Children’s Hunger Project provides packages of food each Friday to Brevard County elementary school age children who are undernourished and coming to school hungry on Monday mornings.  The food packages empower children to have some nutrition for the weekend no matter the family circumstances.  The charity raises money locally with all funds distributed exclusively in Brevard County.
