National Coffee with a Cop Day

On Wednesday, October 2nd, officers from the Palm Bay Police Department and community members will come together at 8:30am at the Starbucks on Palm Bay Road to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee at National Coffee with a Cop Day. “Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the officers who work in their neighborhood every day,” said Police Chief Nelson Moya. Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are held across the county, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time. All Palm Bay and Brevard County citizens are invited to attend on October 2nd from 8:30am until 9:30am at the Starbucks located at 810 Palm Bay Road.

Coffee with a Cop

Police and community members come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink FREE coffee. It allows for a relaxed, informal one-on-one interaction in a friendly atmosphere. So pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee. We meet quarterly throughout the city.
