The City of Palm Bay continues to actively monitor developments related to Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. We are working closely with partners at Brevard County Government and the Florida Department of Health to coordinate appropriate planning and response efforts and to share information with residents.

On Thursday, March 19th, 2020, Mayor William Capote signed Legislative Order No. D-2020-01, declaring a State of Local Emergency in the City of Palm Bay in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. On Wednesday, March 25th, 2020, City Council approved Resolution 2020-09, extending the State of Local Emergency.

Beginning at 12:00pm on Friday, March 20th, 2020, all City of Palm Bay facilities will be closed to the public for the health and safety of Palm Bay citizens and City personnel during the COVID-19 crisis. The closure will extend through at least Wednesday, April 15th, 2020, unless circumstances change. While the City of Palm Bay facilities will be closed to the general public, essential municipal service operations will continue with limited staffing to comply with social distancing guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19.
