Water Expansion Project - Unit 11

Construction for the Unit 11 project began on April 24, 2008. This $2,321,299 project is progressing well, and construction crews are approximately 70% finished with the project.  Crews have completed installation of water distribution lines in three of the area’s four phases.   (See map below.) Phase 1of this project has been cleared by the Department of Environemental Protection (DEP) and property owners can now connect to the City's water system.

Crews have also completed installing pipes in Phase 2 (the area west of Emerson and south of Canal 47) and Phase 4 (east of Emerson and south of Canal 47).  DEP Clearance for Phase 2 has been requested.  Crews will soon begin conducting pressure testing in Phase 4, and installation of pipe will continue in Phase 3.  Currently, crews have installed approximately 24% of the pipe in Phase 3.

Property owners in Unit 11 are encouraged to take advantage of today’s current connection rates.  On October 1, the Utilities Department’s connection fees are scheduled to change.  By pre-paying connection fees before October 1, property owners can lock in at today’s rates and benefit from considerable savings.  To find out more about the pre-payment option and/or available financing opportunities, please contact the Palm Bay Utilities Customer Service Office at (321) 952-3420.  You can also visit the Palm Bay Utilities web site at www.pbud.org and click on the Get Connected icon on the right side of the screen.

Utility Hook-Up Assistance may also be available to those who qualify.  For more information on this program, please contact the Housing and Neighborhood Development Services (HANDS) Office at (321) 952-3429.
