Mission/Vision Statement
Palm Bay Utilities provides superior drinking water, and advanced treatment and disposal of wastewater through an effective utility system reflecting responsible environmental stewardship striving for 100% customer satisfaction.
Our overall mission has five distinct components.
Mission 1: Superior Drinking Water means:
- provide pleasant tasting tap water without smell or color
- having adequate water supply today and for long term
- having no harmful levels of chemicals, elements or bacteria in the drinking water
- maintaining adequate pressure for daily use
- providing continuous reliable water service in drought or hurricane
- having quality water from personal wells
- water meeting national safe drinking water
Mission 2: Advanced Treatment and Disposal of Wastewater means:
- eliminating harmful bacteria from your yard, swamp, canal, stormwater holding pond, river, ocean
- reclaiming wastewater for reuse as a valued resource
- having remote offsite disposal away from your home
- having cleaner creeks, lagoons and rivers where you swim and fish
- providing reliable collection system: flushing when it rains and not drinking your neighbors waste
- providing continuous, reliable service in a hurricane or emergency
- maintaining effective septic systems
Mission 3: Effective Utility System means:
- maintaining reliable operation (24/7)
- building organizational and systems capacity to support growing customer base
- performing better than national utility standards
- extend the life of systems and equipment through preventative and predictive maintenance
- developing well trained, certified and professional utility staff
- using technology to increase productivity and to reduce costs
- have effective equipment and vehicle replacement programs
- planning for utility system development
- maintaining pressure for firefighting
- having consolidated, up-to-date, and usable emergency management plan
Mission 4: Responsible Environmental Stewardship means:
- conserving of water resources
- complying with environment regulations and standards
- recognizing environmental aspects of utility operations
- having mandatory connection in water (all)
- self regulating for compliance: St. Johns, DEP
- using recycling products in utility operations and proper disposal of equipment
- having mandatory connection in new developing areas for wastewater
- having mandatory connection in new developing areas for reuse (South, West)
Mission 5: 100% Customer Satisfaction means
- giving customer valued products and services for fees for support utilities operations
- knowing our customers and their expectations
- meeting the customer’s expectations
- seeking ongoing feedback on services from daily customers
- learning from feedback to improve services
- providing a high level of service resulting in high customer satisfaction
