Road closures & traffic advisories

 

Naylor St NE Road Closure

 

On May 13 & 14, 2008, the City of Palm Bay will be replacing a drainage culvert pipe that runs under Naylor St NE between Neptune Dr NE and Dickenson St NE.  As a result of this replacement, Naylor St NE will be closed on these dates from 7am to 5pm between Neptune Dr NE and Dickenson St NE.  Detour routes will be in place.

Harper Blvd SW Road Closure

 

On May 14 & 15, 2008, the City of Palm Bay will be replacing a drainage culvert pipe that runs under Harper Blvd SW between Halton Ave SW and Hawkins Ave SW.  As a result of this replacement, Harper Blvd SW will be closed on these dates from 7am to 5pm between Halton Ave SW and Hawkins Ave SW.  Detour routes will be in place.

Fleming Ave Road Closure

 

On May 15 & 16, 2008, the City of Palm Bay will be replacing a drainage culvert pipe that runs under Fleming Ave SW between Hammond St SW and Gallagher St SW.  As a result of this replacement, Fleming Ave SW will be closed on these dates from 7am to 5pm between Hammond St SW and Gallagher St SW.  Detour routes will be in place.

PM Unit 46 Road Closures

Westside Ave - Hester Ave - Digby Rd

The City of Palm Bay and its contractors will be replacing several drainage culvert pipes in PM Unit 46, located in the Southeast section of the City.  As a result of these replacements, the following closures are scheduled:

 April 29 & 30, 2008

Westside Ave will be closed at Dewey St. from 7am to 5pm

 April 30 - May 1, 2008

Hester Ave will be closed on the Southside of Eldron Blvd. from 7am to 5pm

 May 1 – 2, 2008

Hester Ave will be closed on the Northside of Eldron Blvd. from 7am to 5pm

 May 6 – 9, 2008

Digby Rd will be closed at Hero St from 7am to 5pm

Tivoli Ave Road Closure

 

The City of Palm Bay and it contractors will be replacing the drainage culvert pipes that run under Tivoli Ave between Gaghagen St and Tishman Rd.  As a result of these replacements, Tivoli will be closed between Gaghagen St and Tishman Rd, 7am – 5pm, on May 5 – 9, 2008.

Night Paving

LONG TRAFFIC DELAYS EXPECTED

Intersection of Palm Bay Road and Babcock Street

On April 23, 2008, Brevard County and its contractors will begin paving the intersection of Palm Bay Road and Babcock.  Due to this paving, commuters should expect long delays between the hours of 6:30pm to 7:00am on the following dates:

April 23 & 24, 2008

April 27, 2008 - May 1, 2008

May 4, 2008 - May 8, 2008

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction disallowing left turn movements at the intersection.

During the overbuild phase the traffic will only be allowed to make right turns at the intersection with designated U-turn locations marked at PBR and Babcock.

Off-Duty Law Enforcement will be used to control the intersection and U-turn areas. 

Driveways within this immediate area will be closed off unless there is no other access.

 

FIRWOOD AVENUE SE CLOSURE

Beginning January 21, 2008, the City of Palm Bay will be replacing failing culverts under Firwood Avenue SE, at Canal 39.  As a result of these replacements, Firwood Avenue SE will be closed between Titan Road SE and Halloran Street SE.  The project is estimated to last until May 19, 2008.

PAR STREET NE CLOSURE

Beginning October 10, 2007, the City of Palm Bay will be replacing failing culverts under Par Street, located in NE Palm Bay, near the intersection Babcock Street and Port Malabar Boulevard.  As a result of these replacements, Par Street  will be closed from Cromey Road to Club Gardens Drive.  Cromey Road will remain open and Club Gardens Drive will experience intermittent closures.  Hooper Ave. at the intersection of Par St. will remain closed for the duration of the project.  The project is estimated to last 150 days.

PALM BAY ROAD LANE CLOSURES

Brevard County has begun the Palm Bay Road Widening Project from Minton Road to RJ Conlan Boulevard, including .5 miles of Babcock Street.  This project consists of the widening of Palm Bay Road to six lanes with resurfacing, drainage improvements, bridge widening at I-95, and new signalization and signage along Palm Bay Road.  Commuters will experience nightly lane closures from 6:30pm to 7:00am.  Brevard County estimates this project will last approximately 950 days from January 3, 2008.
