car seat checks

Child in Car Seat The Palm Bay Police Department currently provides child seat checks by appointment only.  We have five (5) Child Safety Seat Technicians in our Occupant Protection Program who are nationally certified by SafeKids.  Please call (321) 952-3456 to schedule an appointment with one of our technicians.

We will be conducting child seat classes and providing free child seat checkup events throughout the year.  These classes will be advertised on our web site and with agencies in the county, civic groups, social services organizations, and the health department and held in the department's training room.

Our Department will also be conducting usage surveys at pre-designated intersections to track whether the usage rates have increased or decreased through the efforts of this program to educate citizens.  The goal of this program is to increase the usage rate through education and enforcement.  The enforcement will be through comprehensive details throughout the city and special details in conjunction with the state initiatives during holidays.
