about us

Palm Bay Parks and Recreation is one of only 67 Nationally Accredited Parks Departments in a field of over 5000 agencies. Parks and Recreation Maintains all City buildings as well as the Parks themselves. We host many Civic and Cultural Events, and offer enrichment Classes as well as a variety of fitness classes and programs.Thousands of great kids have 'graduated' from the Parks and Recreation youth programs, including Palm Bay High and Gator great Reggie Nelson, currently playing in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

We are very proud also to have opened three new Parks to serve the needs of the Citizens- McGriff Park and the Skate Park, serving the Southwest portion of the City, Inspiration Park, fun for all, and 100% handicapped and special- needs accessible, and Victoria Park, a positive story of turning a blighted area into a beautiful park with a first class playground, pond and picnic pavilion.

We also provide access to our outdoor recreation with boat ramps, canoe launch areas and the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. The next time you have a great softball game at Liberty or Knecht Park, or have fun shooting some hoops at the Community Center on your lunch break, or are wowed by the fireworks at Splashes and Sparks, thank a Parks worker!
