fire prevention week winners receive new bikes

Seven elementary school children, with the assistance of Palm Bay firefighters, took home brand new bicycles after winning the annual Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest. The children were asked to make posters reflecting this year’s theme which is, “Practice Your Escape Plan!” Fire Department Personnel judged entries from every grade level from each elementary school in the City, selecting one winner from each grade level. This year’s winners are as follows:
- Piper Murphy, Sunrise Elementary School, Kindergarten
- Aimee Whitis, Jupiter Elementary School, First Grade
- Anna Pettit, Lockmar Elementary School, Second Grade
- Caleb Pelletier, Westside Elementary School, Third Grade
- David Ellis, Sunrise Elementary School, Fourth Grade
- Colleen Clement, Lockmar Elementary School, Fifth Grade
- Sherley Ruiz, Palm Bay Elementary School, Sixth Grade
