community development advisory board
A seven member advisory board has been created for reviewing and creating programs to help the city’s neediest residents.
The Board will make public service program recommendations to the City Council that pertain to the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The Board shall be responsible for reviewing: 1) All policies pertaining to affordable & fair housing in the City of Palm Bay; 2) Activities being proposed for the annual CDBG Action Plan submission to Brevard County and the Federal government; 3) The Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) prior to its consideration by the City Council; and 4) All revisions to the State Housing Initiatives Partnership's Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) prior to its consideration by the City Council.
Three of the seven members must be involved in private sector housing industries such as real estate, home building and banking; the remaining four will represent residents age 55 and older, and a social services representative as well as two at large members.
Meets: 3rd Wednesday of each month, 7:00pm, at City Hall Council Chambers. The Board meets on an as-needed basis.
