The Awareness (8 hour – Monday, $25.00) level course involves eight hours of classroom instruction, case studies, and interactive tabletop scenarios emphasizing the concept of being aware of the materials that are handled, transported through mechanisms such as labels and markings, Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG), or information stations. In addition, this course stresses to the participants the idea of observe and report, with an emphasis on keeping themselves and others a safe distance.

The Refresher (8 hour, choice Monday – Friday, $25.00) course required to continue compliance levels of training can be participant choice regarding site specific requirements unique to a particular industry, location or simply for further capability and preparedness.  Each Refresher involves eight hours of classroom instruction including the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG).  Please consult daily agendas for the course content that suits individual site specific requirements.

The Operations (24 hour, Monday – Wednesday, $35.00) level course is designed to educate the trainees in the defensive aspects of handling hazardous materials spills and incidents through 24 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on activities. Defensive efforts are limited to activities that keep the responder a safe distance from the spilled materials through actions such as damming and diverting. The proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including the donning (putting on) and doffing (taking off) of PPE is practiced.

The Incident Management/Technician (40 hour Monday – Friday, $45.00) level course is a 40- hour course of instruction in the offensive techniques used to handle a hazardous materials incident. Through classroom instruction, tabletop scenarios, and hands-on activities, participants learn how to intervene and stop the leak or spill as well as prevent the spread of the hazardous material through active means. Participants in this course learn how to work and operate safely at a hazardous materials incident scene within the scope of personnel and equipment available.
