Cross City Trail - Phase 1
The Cross City Trail – Phase 1 project involves the design and construction of a 3,940-foot long, 10-foot wide hard surface, multi-use trail. This trail runs along the FP&L easement, extending from Malabar Road south to Walpole Road. This phase of the project will connect Jupiter Elementary School and surrounding neighborhoods to Malabar Road allowing additional pedestrian connectivity to Palm Bay Regional Park, Heritage High School and Franklin T. DeGroodt Public Library. This project is scheduled to be completed by Summer 2015.
Project Status Updates:
- February 2014 - The project continues in the design and permitting process. The St. John River water management district permit is planned to be issued in the near future. The FP&L consent agreement has been submitted to FP&L and is being reviewed by their office. The project design of the bridge and footers will take place in the upcoming month with the request for proposal or bid for the bridge structure planned to be released by end of February to March.
