Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment:
The City provides all eligible full-time employees with a life insurance policy of one times their annual salary, with a minimum of $30,000. Group 1 & Group 2 employees are provided with a life insurance policy at two times their annual salary, not exceeding $350,000.

Voluntary Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment:
Eligible employees may voluntarily elect life insurance in addition to the Basic Life coverage. Voluntary coverage is available for employees, spouses, and children. Employee units can be purchased in increments of $10,000 to a maximum of $300,000. Spouse units can be purchased in increments of $5,000 to a maximum of $150,000, but not exceeding 50% of the employees voluntary election. Child units can be purchased in increments of $5,000 and $10,000. An AD&D benefit equal to the elected unit can be purchased for employee, spouse, and child coverages.
The Short Term Disability Policy provides for 66 2/3% of your base wages up to a maximum of $700.00 per week for a period of up to 26 weeks. The City of Palm Bay will use your accrued sick, vacation, comp, etc., leave banks to supplement the disability benefits in accordance with City Policy. The City provided Long Term Disability policy offers 66 2/3% of your base wages up to a maximum of $9,000.00 per month after 180 days of disabling injury or illness up to age 65 or your Social Security Normal Retirement Age.
