a day in the life...

Some believe firefighters sit and watch TV all day. That is far from the truth. Fire personnel have specific daily duties, such as checking all apparatus for proper equipment, needed repairs, enter incident information into the fire reporting system, etc. They provide reports to their chain of command, attend training classes, and study. They also exercise and cook their own meals, as well as clean their uniforms and equipment after calls.

Firefighters give tours of their station during the day, and are often scheduled to go to schools to show students their equipment, and provide safety information to them. PBF-R logo
