Board of Adjustments and Appeals
Function:
Provides for the final interpretation of the provisions of all construction, fire, and electrical codes adopted by the city whenever an appeal is filed claiming such codes have been wrongly interpreted by the building official or fire official.
Membership Requirements:
To the greatest extent possible, experienced in the following fields:
- One (1) architect;
- One (1) engineer;
- One (1) member at large from the building industry;
- One (1) building contractor;
- One (1) member at large from the public;
- One (1) electrician;
- One (1) member with expertise and knowledge of fire safety standards.
Maximum Number of Members:
Seven (7)

4 Years

Scheduled when an appeal is filed
Requires filing of Statement of Financial Interests with Brevard County Supervisor of Elections. Board considers quasi-judicial matters.
