In 1911, Czechoslovakia-born carpenter Vaslav Laibl’s five member family arrived in Tillman, over nighted at strapping John Slama’s Main Street hotel, then moved on to 40 acres on Grant Road newly purchased from local realtors Tubbs and Carter.
