Charleena Cox, Human Resources/Benefits Manager, has over 15 years of experience in the field of Human Resources. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Charleena moved to Florida in 1999.  While living in Florida, she earned an Associate’s degree in Human Resource Management. She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Business Administration while attending both Nova University and the University of Phoenix. 

Charleena has an extensive resume in the field of human resources profession including her service as human resources director for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County and as a client services director for United Collections Bureau (UCB), Inc. in Davie, Florida. She also worked as a Benefits Specialist for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale and as a Business Development Specialist, a WIA Job Developer, and a Florida-Back-to-Work (FBTW) Specialist for the state of Florida.

Charleena is considered an expert in areas of processing Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Medical Leaves of Absence (MLA) requests; in addition to Short-Term Disability Claim submissions and ICMA Retirement benefit inquiries. During her service with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office between 2006 and 2008, she successfully trained and served as the sole FMLA liaison to over 6300 employees prior to being promoted to the Department of Law Enforcement Chaplain’s office.
