Post Date:05/10/2018 1:46 PM

The Palm Bay Parks & Recreation Department will offer a Counselor in Training program during camp this summer at the Ted Whitlock Community Center.  The center is located inside Fred Poppe Regional Park, 1951 Malabar Rd NW, in Palm Bay, 32907.

The City of Palm Bay Counselor in Training program gives students the opportunity to assist with day-to-day operations of summer camp while also learning important life skills through mentoring, career shadowing, and participation in recreation programming.  Candidates who are chosen to be Counselors in Training will receive a 50% discount on camp registration fees.  Additional fees for field trips and specials apply.

Counselor in Training positions are filled on a first come, first served basis as space is limited. Applications can be turned in at Ted Whitlock Community Center during business hours (M – F 9am—9pm, S 9am—5pm) through May 18. After the application is turned in, candidates will pick an interview time and interview with camp staff.  Packets will be accepted after May 18 for Counselor in Training positions during Weeks 4 through 9.

For more information about the Counselor in Training program and registration forms, visit www.PBFL.org/SummerCamp or call the Ted Whitlock Community Center at (321) 952-3231.
