Road Closure Alert

In response to recent vehicle collisions and excessive speeding reported on Gaynor Drive, the City of Palm Bay conducted a traffic engineering review and presented the recommendation for the closure of Gaynor Drive at the intersection of Garbelmann Road, at a Public Meeting on January 11, 2012. To address the immediate safety and public health concerns citizens suggested that the roadway be temporarily closed to through traffic on a trial basis for 30 days. On Friday January 19, 2012, the Palm Bay City Council has approved the temporary closure effective February 1, 2012.

Upon completion of the 30 day trial closure, if it has been successful in addressing traffic crashes/speeding issues we will move forward with the process for a permanent closure while leaving the temporary closure devices in place.  We will conduct another Public Meeting prior to March 1, 2012 to receive citizens’ feedback on the trial closure.

Should you have any questions or would like more information please contact either Tony Collins, or Kwabena Ofosu, Traffic Engineer at 321-952-3437.

Garbage Collection Information

Waste Management has undertaken to fund and develop a third-party customer-service survey which has been completed. View Results

Waste Management now has all automatic side loading garbage and recycling trucks running on the routes in Palm Bay.  As a result of this, Waste Management will no longer be able to pick up garbage or recycling that is not contained within a City of Palm Bay Garbage or Recycling Cart.  If you find that often you need additional space for your garbage, you can call Customer Service at 321-952-3420 and request an additional cart.  There is an additional charge of forty cents per month per additional cart.  More Info
