Map of Police Districts
District 1 is the geographic area of the City that is everything east of I-95 and north of Malabar Road. It is a “landlocked” district, providing little opportunity for expansion. District 1 is currently measured at 15.5 square miles. It has an estimated population of 27,351 residents. District 1 has most of the commercial and multi-family housing units within the city, resulting in a small land area and a dense population.
In 2010, the district saw reductions in the number of residential and commercial burglaries. All other index crimes within the district saw slight increases in the number of incidents reported. District officers and detectives continue to work within the community to both educate the citizens in crime prevention and proactive safety in order to reduce the number of crimes occurring.

District 3 is the area west of I-95 to Minton Road and south to Bombardier, south of Malabar Road to the south city limits. Over the past couple of years, the City of Palm Bay has annexed a significant land area south of the old city limits and east of Micco Road. District 3 encompasses approximately 52.9 square miles of the City's near 100 square miles.
In 2010, District 3 residents reported 245 residential and commercial burglaries. This number is slightly higher than the prior year, showing an increase of approximately 5% in this type of crime. Reported thefts were slightly down from the prior year with 302 incidents reported compared to 307 in 2009. Assault and Battery was the highest crime reported with 357 incidents in 2010 compared to 313 in 2009, an increase of approximately 14%. Economic conditions and domestic situations could be the contributing factor to the increase in reported incidents.
